Car necessary - 110 sq mts - 4 miles from central Spoleto, detached cottage with no neighbours, perched on top of its own 2000 strong olive grove, each of its 4 rooms opens onto a terrace through French windows/stunning panoramic views from every window on every side of the house/beautiful stone fire-place (unlimited wood, central heating, hot water etc included in the rate) – sleeps 6, 2 triple bedrooms + 1 twin bedroom, triple sofa in sitting/dining room with fitted kitchen along one wall - 1 large shower room with WC on upper floor and 1 cloakroom with WC - very unusual/unique experience/beautiful cottage, like a dream ! Nearest shops, bar and restaurants 2.5 miles.

Internet access available via a dongle with 10 euros/week credit – signal cannot be guaranteed but there is a strong signal at Villa Marianna, 1.7 miles up the lane, where you can use your computer inside or outside, free of charge on WIFI. However, my Iphone works on WiFi at places in the cottage so you should be OK.

One of the most impressive features of Mount OLive Cottage is its spectacular location, on a hill, in the midst of 2000 olive trees. And, no neighbours !

In lower Bazzano-di-Spoleto, a 10C newly restored, detached stone cottage, in the epicentre of the Umbrian olive and vineyard countryside, this picturesque, stone cottage, stands alone, atop a private hill, proudly embracing a 360 deg sweep of hill-top villages, monasteries, ruins, hills and dales, stretching to the far points of Umbria, from every angle, every window and terrace of this cute cottage. 4 miles from central Spoleto, about 3 minutes’ drive up an unmade up road, but which is also easily driveable, the cottage sits amidst one of the largest privately owned, organic olive groves in these parts. Indeed, we sell our own certificated “VM” olive oil.

Surrounded by 2000 olive tress, the cottage is flanked on each side with an olive tree, both of which are over 1000 years old, trunks of which are the size of a small house ! Hence the name of the cottage, “Mount Olive”. 

Mount Olive Cottage proudly housed the very first fratoio ie olive oil press, in these parts. And, from our Mount Olive olives, we produce our own certificated, organic olive oil called VM olive oil (named after Villa Marianna, Marianna being the name of the beloved late wife of the owner, Silvano, who is also our partner).

Internet access by way of a dongle - 5 euros/credit per week. The signal cannot be guaranteed but my Iphone works there.

In lower Bazzano-di-Spoleto, an 11C newly restored, detached stone cottage, in the epicentre of the Umbrian olive and vineyard countryside, proudly embraces vistas of hill-top villages, monasteries, ruins, hills and dales, stretching to the far points of Umbria from every angle, every window and from all 4 terraces of this cute cottage.

3 minutes drive up an unmade up, but easily driveable road, this amazingly beautiful cottage stands alone with no neighbours, on top of a private hill, with 360 deg panoramic views, in the midst of one of the largest privately owned, organic olive groves in these parts.

Mount Olive Cottage is one to two miles to 2 fabulous country restaurants, one of which has exceptionally pretty grounds where people eat out in the summer. Here, you must sample the most famous Italian dish of all….tartufo ie truffles. Umbria is the world's centre for truffles.

And, it is 1.5 miles to Vincenzo’s, a wonderful bar that sells the best gelato, cakes, cappuccino and light lunches in the world and, 2 miles from a supermarket. 20 miles to Assisi, as well as being very close to everywhere else you might wish to visit in Umbria : Perugia, Trevi, Orvieto, Gubbio, Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco.

The walking territory all around you is spell-blindingly beautiful. Returning to Mount Olive Cottage from the surrounding hills for a cool flute of prosecco, with a setting sun casting golden shadows across purple mountains, set against an indigo sky, can, at worst, be described as paradise !

And, with Rome just over 1 hour away by car or train, apart from our Convent in Bazzano, you would be hard pressed to find another holiday home in such a unique and private environment that is so easily accessible to all the “hot-spots” of Umbria. 

We can provide a "dongle" for Wifi access, inclusive of a 5 euros credit. However, we cannot guarantee the signal ! But, my Iphone works there in certain positions !

Our large private pool is available for your use at any time, free of charge, from May to Sept. It is 3 miles away at Villa Marianna, one of our country villas, where we offer speciality lunches.....truffle, pasta and pizza dishes, made from our fresh, home-grown produce, subject to demand.

And, every Wed, we are offering a tiny farmer's market, where our home-grown produce will be on sale...or, you can pick your own from the fields !

Please note that the last 1.5 miles is a flattened dirt road, NOT a strada bianca (full of boulders) ! So, it is easily driveable, albeit a bit bumpy in parts !
