APT ZEBRA is in Palazzo Rosari-Spada, Piazza Soroni, right in the very centre of Spoleto, in a 15C palazzo, a 15 minutes walk to the train station – there are local busses that stop nearby. There are small local shops in the vicinity, where you can buy cheeses, salami, truffles, olive oils, sausages, wine, bread, milk, sugar, fresh fruit and veg etc. And, you are a stones throw from Piazza Mercato and Piazza Liberta, where the tourist office is.  

Car not necessary – 90 sq mts, on 2 levels - central Spoleto with huge window and views of the poshest hotel in town and old Spoleto - sleeps 8 (1 double mezzanine bedroom up a spiral staircase with 2 single beds, 2 double bedrooms (1 on ground floor) + 1 twin bedroom. A single bed can be unobtrusively placed in huge drawing room, by request. 2 shower rooms/WC) – extremely spacious/elegant//no lift but just a few steps to ZEBRA. 

No WiFi available in the apartment. However, cross the road to the posh hotel and, in the comfortable lounge area, you have free access to Wifi and their IPad PLUS 15% off all meals taken there because you are our guests !

SPOLETO HISTORIC CENTRE - 20 MINS WALK TO STATION OR SHORT BUS-RIDE/car NOT necessary.
The rate includes a lift, free of charge, to and from the station (ie arrival and departure), if you are without a car. This offer is subject to Laurie, my husband being available and the car being OK. To date, we have always been able to provide this service !

Owned by Italian aristocrats, who are abroad on business for a few years, this desirable apartment could be yours, if you wish to experience living in one of Spoleto's oldest palazzos. Elegant and spacious with a huge drawing room, this apartment is perfect for family or friend reunions. 

Zebra is so-called because of its striking black and white furniture in the drawing room.

2 double bedrooms + 1 twin bedroom + 1 double or 2 twins on mezzanine floor, 1 HUGE sitting/dining room, 1 separate fitted kitchen + 2 bathrooms.

Extra single bed can be placed in huge sitting room, by request.

On 2 floors, 2 of the 3 bedrooms, are on the upper floor, where there is a bathroom with bathtub and hand-held shower. On the ground floor, is the 2nd double bedroom. And, at one end of the drawing room with its extremely high ceiling, is a mezzanine, on which there are 2 twin beds or 1 double. On the ground floor, there is a shower room. However, extra sleeping can be easily and unobtrusively arranged in the drawing room, by request.

NO washing machine but bags of whites and/or colours can be delivered to the hotel, across the road, and washed at a cost of 10 euros/bag.

APT ZEBRA is in the Palazzo Spada, in the buzzy middle level of the historic centre of Spoleto, an excellent location with just a few minutes walk to both the upper and lower levels of this tiny, walled, fairy-tale city. And, just a 20 mins walk to train station or a short bus-ride.  

Picture a quiet area with very little traffic, just a stone's throw from all the action. You are in the very heart of the historic centre of Spoleto. One of the two main pedestrian streets in Spoleto, where you will find shops, bars and restaurants, is a 1 minute walk.  Same re the tourist office and the Roman Forum, where live theatre is staged, in Piazza Liberta. However, instead of witnessing Romans being thrown to the lions, you will be experience world-class acts, concerts and dancing.

Wander through these cobbled, arched lanes, pause to pinch yourself at every piazza pit stop, and, allow your senses to be assaulted 

Spoleto is a dream city, Tiny and compact, it packs a punch, offering concerts and theatre throughout the year. On every corner is a museum, a church or an art gallery. Indeed, also within the Palazzo Spada, next door to APT ZEBRA, are the famous Costume Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Culture.

Our large private pool (120 sq mts) is available for your use at any time between May to Sept, free of charge, at our Villa Marianna.

You can park nearby. Or, you can hire a single car secure garage space, next to the elevator, up to the apartment.

The weekly rate is 50 euros, or 8 euros/day, the rate we pay the owner of the tiny car-park.

If you intend being without a car, then, unless my husband or the car is incapacitated (both highly unlikely), then, you will be picked up from the station on your day of arrival and taken back on the day of your departure. 

At the top of Spoleto, 10 min. walk from Zebra, is the famous Rocca and the awesome Roman aqueduct that joins Spoleto to the mountains. Cross the aqueduct and you are immediately in the wonderful 'sacred mountains', where you will find many marked paths up to Monteluco. Or, you can take the easy path, crossing valleys, passing the Rocca, seeing Spoleto strewn below you, a circular path that takes you to Piazza Garibaldi, at the bottom of Spoleto. Then, you can either walk up to Zebra, through the beautiful, mediaeval, cobbled and arched lanes, passing shops, bars and restaurants at every twist and turn or take the escalator and walk down to Zebra, either way taking about 15 minutes, by foot. 

You can hire bikes from a shop in central Spoleto, by the station. A wonderful cycle ride can be had by following either the famous Giro D'Italia route up to the Valico Dei Peregrini and beyond, with the world spilling beneath you, and/or, the river bank, all the way to Assisi, across the vast plain, encircled by mountain ranges and patched with  a diversity of pasture and crop fields, interrupted by olive groves and vineyards, sewn together with natural grass lands, grazed upon by sheep, pigs, cows and horses.

Subsequently, Spoleto is in demand with those in search of "the authentic Italian" experience, love beauty and who wish to base themselves in the centre of Italy because, from Spoleto, you can get to practically anywhere else in Italy easily and cheaply within minutes to a few hours.

Until now, it had always been too expensive to stay in Spoleto. Holiday-makers were forced to stay outside of Spoleto and drive in. We have changed all that.
